I can’t believe all the wonderful people who came to visit my garden this weekend. So many connections! Thank you - not only for your kind words but also for buying my books. All proceeds went to The Alzheimer’s Society in memory of my mum who died one year ago tomorrow. She lived with dementia for over five years. During that time our relationship blossomed. As her mind faded the barriers she had constructed to keep her safe came down and her true light shone through. I am so proud and humbled by her resilience, her courage and determination. She lived on her own for over 35 years after my father died, by choice. She was happy in her own company and she loved to paint when she wasn’t out with friends or travelling. I have her work hanging in my house to remind me of her every day. So treasure the moments you have and life for today. Life is a gift for you to live your best life. Fear the fear and do it anyway.
