Check out earlier blogs for the first two tips.
You have lived a life full of experiences, and this is your advantage. Younger people forget that we have been there, done that, bought the tee shirt. Now it's time to use all of those feelings and emotions. The sunset when visiting an exotic place or having your heart broken or the joy of holding your grandchild. So many things to fill your writing with authenticity.
For example: I have always felt my mother (now 99 with dementia) thought I was 'difficult' but during conversations with her about her past I realise she was the original 'wild child' and I have inherited that streak from her! She was the one that got in trouble for missing the last bus home and had a passionate affair with a Swiss gentleman whilst on work placement. I am my mother's daughter. How uplifting and freeing is that.
So come on
Use those experiences, write them in your morning pages and see what threads emerge you could use as the beginnings of a story. Open the door to your life and all its richness.

You are absolutely right! I was a 'difficult' teenager (I prefer to say 'determined') and I'm drawing on some of those experiences and feelings for my creative work now. Looking forward to Tip 4.
