Plotter or Pantser?
Plotter or Pantser?

What does this mean?

Plotter work out the entire book before they write. The plot, characters, chapters, and scenes are all worked out first. Established authors who use a formula for their novels use this method as it works for them and it is what their publisher expects. For example: J K Rowling and John Grisham

Pantser or Discovery writers like Stephen King and Margaret Atwood let their stories write themselves. They have a rough idea of where it's going, but fundamentally they sit down and write to see where the characters take them.

I am a discovery writer: I love to sit down at my laptop and see where the story takes me. I wake up at 3am and have to write an idea down.
