Think about the sort of books you like to read. This is probably the genre you will be most successful at. There are basically seven genres or story types:

• Fantasy 

• Science Fiction

• Horror

• Mystery

• Romance

• Thriller/Suspense

When you have thought about the books you like see which genre they come under. List what it is you like about the genre. Check out the authors online and read about them. Is it someone that resonates with you? I've been challenged to read books I wouldn't normally choose in my books clubs. It's a good practice although I've decided there's a lot of fluffy books about. I like something with a bit more grit.
